Thank you for being patient with us. We have some great news to update you all.
Production Schedule Update
We’re moving along with production. With your support, we’re able to unlock the final stretch goal: Matte finishing. We have modified the injection mold to ensure all 14 variations of the Ennercells are meeting our standards. We have ordered some new batteries with the correct size for our design and it will arrive next week. Our next step is to order all the materials needed for mass production, so we’re expecting to begin the manufacturing process very soon.
Backer Surveys and BackerKit Post-campaign Sales
We’ve partnered up with BackerKit to manage our post-campaign sales. We’re setting up the backer surveys and will be sending them out to all of you next week. As of today, Kickstarter has stopped collecting your payments from your credit cards. If you missed the payment, you still have the opportunity to pay for your original pledge from the backer surveys powered by BackerKit.
BackerKit’s system enabled us to create some add-on items for you to purchase and receive them in the same package as your reward.
Our vision is to make people’s lives easier and challenge the current charging industry, hence we created Ennercell, a true wireless battery pack that allows you to ditch your cables and save the planet at the same time. We didn’t want to include any cables to begin with but we know a lot of you have been requesting in the comments and private messages. We want to open up more options for you guys and stick with our value at the same time, so we’ll be making higher quality cables with higher performance to ensure your one purchase lasts for years.
The best part about BackerKit is that we can put up images of the Ennercell in all 14 variations to help you make your decisions! And we cannot wait to hear what you think of them.

We’re Funded & Timeline Update

Dear Kickstarter Backers,
THANK YOU so much for supporting us! The last 43 days have been incredible! We’ve raised a total of HK$780,519 (~US$100k) with the help of all 2,361 of you. We’ve been completely blown away by the community we’ve built here on Kickstarter. We’re very excited to see a lot of like-minded people who want to join in the wireless charging journey with us.
We also want to thank you for all your opinions, ideas and suggestions to help us improve the Ennercell.
We’ve always wanted to make a battery pack that’s super convenient to use while powerful enough to be useful on a daily basis. We went through so many different ideas to finally push out a product that we’re satisfied with, but never in a million years have we thought you guys can take it this far. So again, THANK YOU!
While we’re having a little celebration on the success, our team has already geared up for manufacturing to make sure your Ennercells will be delivered on time.
Kickstarter surveys will be coming in 2 weeks, after we collect the Kickstarter funds. Please be on the lookout for it in your emails. The survey is where you can choose your color and finishing options, and also request a charging cable. Stay tuned!
A quick note about our current schedule:
We would like to give you a brief outline of our production and shipping timeline. We are expecting to receive all your funds and have our backer surveys sent out to you in 2 weeks. Please keep an eye out and fill out the survey as soon as you receive it, so we can start our mass production as soon as possible. Production is scheduled to begin by the end of August and we plan to start shipping in the week of 23rd September 2019. Let’s work together and make this happen!
On a side note, Kickstarter has started charging your credit cards for your reward(s). There are still 15% of you showing up as errored backers. That means your payment has not been processed. Reasons for this might be your credit card has expired, wrong card details on Kickstarter, or you might have reported a missing credit card after your pledge. Please update your credit card details or contact your bank immediately. After 2 weeks, Kickstarter will stop collecting your funds and your pledge will be invalid. We really don’t want you to miss out on the Ennercell.
If you see a RED BAR on top of your screen when you log in to your Kickstarter account, that means you have not been charged yet and actions are required.

Dear Kickstarter Backers,
Thanks for showing your love in our last update. We’re grateful to have your support and understanding. We are trying our best to keep everything as transparent as possible to ensure all our backers know exactly what’s happening on our end. This update is a bit wordy so we apologize in advance.
Demonstration videos
We’ve been doing a lot of testing on the pre-production prototypes, and we want to show you a sample of how we do it.
The first video is a demonstration of how we test the wireless charging power output of the Ennercell. We used a wireless current voltage meter to imitate different smartphones and request an output power at 5W, 7.5W and 10W, respectively. The voltage meter can simulate different devices through manual adjustment of how much power (in W) it requests from the Ennercell. While in real life, smartphones are programmed to request different W of power when charging.

We also did a video of the Ennercell charging an iPhone X from 10% to 80%. We sped it up so you don’t have to sit through the entire thing.
It took the Ennercell 134 minutes to charge an iPhone X from 10% to 80%. The charging rate was fast in the first 30 minutes, with an average of 7% per 10 minutes. If it stayed at this rate, it should take a total of 100 minutes to charge up to 80%. One possible explanation for the drop in charging rate after the first 30 minutes is that the iPhone X was requesting less and less power from the Ennercell over time. This is something that smartphones are programmed to perform to preserve battery life. At the end of the test, it took the Ennercell 10 minutes to charge the iPhone from 76% to 80%, meaning the charging rate gradually dropped to less than 4% per 10 minutes. Though smartphones normally have this technical tendency, we will look further into it and see if there are any other performance issues that needs to be fixed before mass production begins.
Stretch Goal #1 Update
We currently have 380 followers on our Instagram! Thank you so much for sharing our campaign with your friends. We couldn’t have done it without your support and kind words. It’s still a little far from reaching the stretch goal. We set this goal with an expectation that it would be the easiest goal to be unlocked with a growing number of backers over time. We estimated that even if only 50% of our backers followed us on Instagram, we would reach the goal in no time. We learnt that not everyone uses Instagram, and it’s been a goal that stays unlocked throughout the campaign. We want to update the condition when we will unlock this stretch goal to “ Reach 2,200 backers or reach 500 followers on Instagram”.
With a week left, it's highly possible that we unlock this stretch goal along with our final stretch goal! Keep sharing!
Post campaign planning
We are planning our post-campaign activity and service. There is a high possibility that we will be picking BackerKit as our pledge manager. While they charge creators a fair amount of the funds from the campaign, it's still worth it to have everything handled professionally. And again, your support is the reason we are able to cover the expenses for this service.
While the campaign still has just about 1 week left, please continue to share our campaign with your friends and people you think they need their phone charged always!

Beta Testers Announced & much more

Dear Kickstarter Backers,
Thanks for all your ongoing support! We have a lot to get through and we’ve been very busy with testing and getting ready for mass production, so we apologize in advance for the lack of graphics in this update.
Summary on Sample Tests
A quick follow up on our last update about testing on the pre-production samples we brought back from the factory. The safety tests have gone well, with no overheating or short circuiting during the tests. We will do a demonstration video of the tests in another update this week. And yes, it will include performance, not just safety.
Although the preliminary tests have gone well, there is one minor issue regarding the physical size of the Li-Po cell in this batch. They are 2mm thicker than what was ordered, while the length and width have been reduced. We were still able to seal the case with the cells we received but it bouged up, making the entire power bank thicker than intended. Luckily we noticed this issue in pre-production, so we have enough time to make the correct order before mass production begins after the Kickstarter campaign.

Next Stretch Goal Revealed
Ever since unlocking the color stretch goals, the most requested option was a matte finish for the Ennercell. We thought the only way to do so would be creating a new injection mold, which would increase production costs by a lot. Thanks to your amazing support, we should be able to cover that cost now, but the other problem is that creating another mold would require a lead time of another 45-60 days. If we did that, the delivery of your rewards would be delayed by at least 2 months.
Luckily, we’ve been looking into other solutions all along and have found the perfect one: adding an ultraviolet (UV) coating to the top of the Ennercell. This will allow for Glossy and Matte finish options while adding scratch-resistance too. It’s going to cost more and add extra steps in the manufacturing process, but the good news is that we can stick with our original delivery dates while adding another great feature.
Reward Section Update
As you might already know, we updated our reward section last Friday. We’ve extended our Summer Special rewards, so you can now order 2 or 3 Ennercells at Summer Special prices at US$21 each!
We were able to lower the prices because we landed deals with 2 distributors and they have increased our initial order massively. This has led to lower cost of production, and we want to transfer that discount to our backers.
If you have pledged for the earlier rewards, you might want to check out our new rewards and compare prices with your current one. We are happy to be able to offer the lowest prices for our backers, so adjustments are always welcomed and appreciated!
